CC83: Mission 2313 a slim floorstanding speaker with d'Appolito arrangement as in Hobby Hifi 3/2008

According to reviews in Klang+Ton and Hobby HiFi, Mission drivers have an exceptional price performance ratio. Bernd Timmermanns designed the Mission 2313, featured in Hobby HiFi 3/2008, with two shielded Mission CP 138 surrounding the Newtronics HT 25 tweeter.

Due to the low height of the tweeter, the two bass drivers can be mounted close to one another, resulting in a true d'Appolito arrangement.

The Mission has an efficiency of 91 dB (2.83V, 1m) which is well above the average of hi-fi loudspeakers; therefore, this speaker is well suited for valve amplifiers

As described in Hobby HiFi 3/2008, this kit can also be built using a 37.6 cm high and 30 cm deep sealed cabinet. The speaker is then ideally suited for home cinema (front, centre, rear). We recommend to add a subwoofer like CT 228, Sub AAX 12 or Sub T25.30.

"The sound of these slim loudspeakers corresponds to the all in all convincing lab results. The vocals are absolutely natural, clear and exceptionally three-dimensional. The excellent resolving ability of the midrange is demonstrated by the opera "Echnaton" by Philip Glass in a Stuttgart Staatsorchester recording: the vocals of the choir are outstandingly distinctive. Even the deployment of a full orchestra doesn't cause the loudspeakers to fall out of step. "Something Grand" by the Hilton Ruiz Ensemble is interpreted with tremendous commitment. If you prefer a crossover of higher quality we recommend the following kit with high-end components. Higher quality components are used throughout: in the signal path copper foil coils and Mundorf Supreme CAP's; otherwise, MKP capacitors and MOX10 resistors.
