After Klang+Ton and Hobby Hifi had confirmed that the Mission drivers possess an outstanding price / performance ratio Bernd Timmermanns designed his first floorstanders with these drivers. The goal was to have an "extremely slim floorstanding speaker with excellent dynamics"
The Mission 2410 is equipped with 3 Mission CP101 bass drivers that are ideally suited for a connection in parallel (12 Ohm / 3 = 4 Ohm). An inside tip, the Newtronics HT 26 featured in the same magazine was added as high frequency driver. "The Newtronics excelled in a well balanced frequency response exceptionally low distortion."
Review by Hobby Hifi: "Small speakers, great sound During our listening test the Mission 2410 was driven by a Electrocompaniet ECI 3 integrated amp. The source was a Marantz SA-15 SI. These slim speakers proved to be an epitome of liveliness and commitment. The sound was extraordinarily light and dynamic, not exactly what was to be expected from these miniatures. Fantastic: "The Cost Of Freedom" by Marla Glen. A fat bass spread all over the room. Or the "Jazz Variants" by the O-Zone Percussion Group (both are on the Manger Test CD): these guys are known to drum on anything they can lay their hands on, resulting in a bubbly and explosive mixture. The placement of vocals and instruments in width and depth is outstanding and realistic. Then we added the "Sub 10 BRHP". This sub fits the Mission like a glove and turns any musical reproduction into unique experience. Ray Brown's double bass in a Oscar Peterson recording from 1963 was absolutely astonishing. The lowest octave can obviously not be reproduced by the Mission, but the this matching, compact bass cube is the ideal companion for the Missions.
Verdict Small loudspeakers and a big room filling sound. With the introduction of the mission this is no longer contradictory in terms. This is a loudspeaker for those who don't want big speakers and still want to enjoy big music, and the kit price for the Missions at EUR250 is very tempting." ...
