The Nova 3 is an extremely slim speaker; to prevent the cabinet from tipping over a base plate needs to be screwed to the bottom panel.
1 bag of polyester damping material should be placed into the small, upper chamber. The remaining polyester fleece should be loosely packed in the lower chamber, the bass reflex tubes (and 15 cm around them) should remain uncovered.
All panels need to be screwed together; the drivers should be fitted last.
The HP 70 bass reflex tube needs to mounted without shortening it. It may also be fitted to the front just below the Alcone AC 5.25.
The crossover may be fitted to the bottom panel; in this case the base should be detachable.
Before fitting the second side panel all internal wiring should be completed; afterwards it's considerably more complicated.
The crossover should be mounted on a wooden panel. The individual components should either be hot-glued to the wooden board or attached with cable fasteners and then wired up. If preferred, a universal PCB may be used where the components are fed through one side and soldered on the other. If a valve amp is being used we recommend a serial resonance circuit for impedance correction. Components to be used: - ELCO unetched 22 uF - air core coil 0.56 mH / 0.7 mm - resistor 6.8 Ohm 10 Watt All components to be wired in series, the two leads to be connected to the loudspeaker terminals.
