NT 52 as in ADM 9/2006 Newtronics Temperance is well known to most our customers: astonishing sound at a reasonable price. Udo Wohlgemuth, the creator of many excellent Newtronics products (like Temperance or Gate) added a smaller sister model with excellent qualities.

The arrangement of tweeter and midrange was changed and the impedance was fixed at 6 Ohm to ensure that any type of amp can handle the speaker.

The new model is equipped with Newtronics HT 26 tweeter and 4 BM 13/4 bass/midrange drivers, all made in Denmark.

NT 52 Review

Udo Wohlgemuth's review of the NT 52 as in ADM 9/2006:
"I can't claim with a clear conscience that I was positively surprised by the NT 52's lab results, since I was informed about every development step of the drivers. But until now I never had the opportunity to assess their abilities in one loudspeaker. Too often I made the experience that good lab results didn't necessarily result in good sound. A perfectly flat frequency response often caused an unpleasant high frequency hiss. The designer just forgot to consider the width of the baffle. No diagram can tell you anything about the peak response of the speaker. Are the piano notes clearly audible or are they blurred? There is no alternative to listening if you want to find out whether a job had been done well.

Spectacular drum and techno bass wasn't the preferred material for the NT 52. So I closed this chapter quite quickly in favour of some quieter pace with "This Is Us" by Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris to ensure that my ears were aligned back to normal. Familiar sounding vocals and guitars by these folks who should slowly start thinking of having the invitation cards printed for their sixtieth birthdays. Precise and crisp bass drum and snare, and a few strokes on the softly reverberating cymbals - that is the world of these small transmission lines. The by now considerable troupe of young ladies that prefer to market their music using their vocal chords instead of hopping around, like Joss Stone, Kati Melua and Ravi Shankar's daughter Norah Jones, was the preferred food for these small boxes. And the reasonably priced tweeter didn't pay attention to its price/performance ratio. Vivaldi's "Concert for four violins" and Bach's "Brandenburg Concertos" confirmed the speakers' ability to place the instruments precisely where they belong. Finally, when Mitsuko Uchida's fingers were gliding over the piano keys, intonating Mozart's "Piano Sonata in A Major" it became clear that the opening question was satisfactorily answered. The originally planed assistance by a build-in subwoofer was immediately discarded when the solemnity of Mozart's "Requiem KV 626" was hampered with instead of supporting it. Therefore, this feature is going to be kept as an exhibit until it might be used in conjunction with small satellites."
